Discover

1. Collaborate and co-operate with the client and multi-discipline team to formulate scope of work, timeline, resource and deliverables.

2. Collect, collate, review all input data for quality assurance and quality control purposes.

Construct

3. Construct the structural and stratigraphic framework of the geological model.

4. Define model grid geometry, grid cell count, geometrical properties, boundary conditions.

Populate

5. Scale up, compositing of drillhole, well logs, point data.

6. Perform comprehensive geostatistical data analysis.

7. Population of domain, facies, petrophysical and hydraulic rock/sediment properties.

 

Generate

8. Upscaled simulation grids, block models, groundwater numerical models.

9. Generate volumetrics, resource grade estimation, drawdown, yields and impacts

Investigate

10. Reservoir and aquifer dynamic flow simulation.

11. Sensitivity and uncertainty analysis.

Report

12. Analysis of results. Validating and resource reporting.

Having formulated a scope of work, timeline, resources and deliverables in co-operation with the client, the key subsurface data is identified and integrated into a comprehensive and fit-for-purpose constructed and populated model.

The 3D model acts as a collaborative environment where insights from the various subsurface disciplines keep the model up-to-date and provide efficient flow of data and generated results between the various modelled grid matrices.

Subsequently, realistic and robust ranges of uncertainty can be investigated, improving project assessment and risk management. The end technical report provides analysis and results for use by the client when establishing the most economic and effective development plan for the asset.

A common thread between projects is the use of geostatistics. Our team is well versed in the science, familiar with geostatistical analysis, variography, deterministic and stochastic modelling algorithms. This understanding of the analysis of spatially organised data enables the team to choose the right tool to meet the modelling needs, and to properly apply it, to the benefit of the client.

Knowledge of software is key, with our consultants experienced in the following products: Petrel, Eclipse, Leapfrog, Vulcan, Isatis, MODFLOW, tNavigator, Gocad, RMS, FEFLOW, plus other industry leading software.
