Mineral MINING SERVICES.

The supply of raw materials provided by the mining industry underpins global economic growth. The benefits of mining have flowed far and wide, and in modern-day society and into the future, raw materials will be critical as we bridge the energy transition process.

Many of the low carbon energy solutions, such as wind turbines, solar panels, batteries and electric cars that will help drive our delivery of climate change targets, rely on metals sourced from mining.

For example, electric vehicles and wind turbines require metals for wiring, batteries and components including lithium, graphite, nickel-sulphide, cobalt, molybdenum and copper. Solar panels will need metals such as silicon and tellurium for the solar cells that turn sunlight into electricity.

Gold catalysts are used to help convert CO2 into useful fuels, and gold nanomaterials are used to enhance hydrogen fuel cell performance.

We are expanding the amounts that we need of these materials, and it will be a challenge to continue to source a ready supply.
