Surveyed Gravity Mine and Sampling for Customised Certified Reference Materials

RS Mines, Sri Lanka

This project, known as the Queens Mine, is located in central Sri Lanka and consists of high quality vein graphite hosted within Paleoproterozoic crystalline sequences metamorphosed to amphibolite facies.

Mike has been involved in the project since 2013 from early exploration to the compilation of robust Quality Assurance / Quality Control and sampling protocols for mineral resource estimation reported in accordance with the JORC Code standards. As this is an industrial mineral, other factors need to be considered for estimation purposes including type of products and likely markets, as well as off take agreements.

"RS Mines (pvt) Ltd had the pleasure of working firsthand on the ground with Michael Cunningham, at our site, the Queen's Mines, situated in Sri Lanka. RS Mines primarily an exploration company with artisanal mining rights for natural crystalline vein graphite at the property known as The Queen's Mine, now branching into its Industrial Mining License. Michael assisted in plotting GPS co-ordinates onto the detected anomaly, mapped the identified graphite veins from our main mining shaft and adits, and converted this information into 3D geological models. Integrity, ethics, and professionalism are at the core of Michael's work, and with his in-depth knowledge and experience his services can be viewed as invaluable to any exploration or large-scale mining company."
