3D Static and Dynamic Modelling for Four Conventional Fields

Hydra Energy, Australia

The focus of the project was the construction of static and dynamic models for four separate fields. The models were initially intended as single, reference case models integrating all known data provided by Hydra Energy, but the scope was extended with low and high models additionally constructed.

The models went through several iterations as each successive static model was dynamically simulated, and changes made to improve the history match with available production data. The final modelled results were used to support development plan scenarios.

Technical work included the creation of structural frameworks and associated grids. The population of the grids with facies and petrophysical properties, export of models and simulation of associated dynamic models, with history matching and creation of development scenarios.

“Modelling Matters sound approach to model building, and in-progress QC of all parameters, was a key factor in the subsurface team achieving full reserves certification by Independent Experts and more than doubling the then valuation of the company. I have no hesitation in recommending Modelling Matters to future clients and would use them again as first choice when the need arises.”
